Description

This is a heavily landscaped project started in 1979. The developer, David James, was in the landscape business and he was very creative with the use of ponds and what we have now have come to call water-scaping. Nearly every home site has water out the back door. There is an interesting mix of properties because there are detached homes on smaller lots along with estate sized parcels that even allow horses. In addition there are about 20 two story townhomes built by Duane Speh, a well-known local builder. Later, David James added a more contemporary townhome that won national awards for design. On the east side of the Ranch, the property adjoins land that has been placed in a conservation easement; and on the south are enormous Cottonwood trees where about eight or 10 homes have also been built on larger lots. It would not be unusual to see several hundred elk in the conservation land during the winter months. There is a community tennis court and basketball court plus lots of open-space lands. The ponds and streams, which are used for irrigation and as such are seasonal, have fish and it’s a perfect spot for the grandkids to catch their Colorado Trout. Even the worst fishermen can catch their limit. Many of the homes are used on a seasonal basis or are second or third homes. Streets are all paved but there are no curbs and gutters. The property is serviced by central water, sewer and natural gas. There are still a few lots left for sale.
