Lake Durango Estates which is located more North than the subdivision of Lake Durango, is comprised of about 20 lots of five acres each. These lots tend to be heavily timbered with Ponderosa pine and some would have nice views of the La Plata Mountains to the North. These are the mostly flat lots with gentle rolling hills. Inside the Lake Durango subdivision is a large reservoir called Lake Durango which serves as the domestic water source for a number of residential projects West of town. At the same time it offers a nice visual amenity for many of the people who live in Lake Durango. All of the roads in Lake Durango and Lake Durango Estates are gravel roads and it is a gated community. The lots in Lake Durango tend to be a bit larger with some parcels as large as 35 acres. These lots are serviced by a central water system and sewer would be dealt with via a septic system. Horses are allowed, but are restricted.
