Rockwood Estates was built right after the resort at Tamarron was constructed in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Principally occupied by 2nd home owners, the streets are all paved and it is served with central water, sewer and natural gas. The homes on the East side of the Estates overlook open space and part of the Glacier Club golf course. Tall pine trees… both Ponderosa and Spruce… provide a nice heavy vegetation and a Colorado mountain feel. There is a large cliff on the west side that does shade the homes in the afternoon. There is significantly more snow here then falls in the city of Durango. You would only be about 5 minutes away from Durango Mountain resort. All of the properties in Rockwood Estates are single-family.
