Located at the south end of Vallecito Lake, one of the largest and most beautiful bodies of water in Colorado. With over 22 miles of shoreline, the lake and surrounding area offers outstanding recreational activities. Close to 2000 feet higher in elevation than Durango, you really need to like snow because there is plenty of it in the winter. A four-wheel drive vehicle is a must for winter access. All lots/home sites have stunning views towards the north end of the lake. The south marina is located across the lake from the subdivision for easy access to boating activities. The cross-country ski trails are located just below the subdivision. National Forest and the Weminuche Wilderness abuts the subdivision on three sides. Since there is no central water system, you would need to drill your own water well. Sewer service would be provided by installing your own septic system. Bottled propane would be necessary as well. Deer, elk, bear and turkey are very common neighbors.
