The Sitzmark Condominiums were built in 1979 and sit at the bottom of the Styx Ski Run. There are a total of 16 units range in size from 1600 ft. to 1900 ft. and they are all 3 or 4 bedroom units with 2 ½ to 4 bathrooms. These condominiums are 2 or 3 stories in height and contain a single carport parking (although some people have converted their carport into additional living area) with each unit as well as a brick fireplace. When these were built, along with the Edelweiss condominiums, they were certainly the cream-of-the-crop at Purgatory. The Sitzmark Condominiums feature large kitchens, vaulted ceilings on the top floor, and a deck big enough to put porch furniture and a barbecue on. Very “untypical” of the ski area condominium’s deck. Built in 3 separate buildings, only the westerly most building would adjoin the Styx run. The living room features a very large sliding glass door section with views to Spud Mountain and the Western Needles Mountains. Built before there was ever natural gas at the ski area, these homes are heated with electric baseboard heat. These condominiums do not come on the market very often, but the 2 most recent sales are for $342,500 and $522,500.
