Description

This project was developed in the early 1970s so some of the original homes were kit-type A-frame cabins. The covenants are not especially strict, so you get quite a mix of properties in this project. The lower portion, down in the meadow, parallels the highway. There are lots of Aspen trees as well as some spruce trees because we are now a little under 8000 feet in elevation. These homes would have views of Hermosa Cliffs but would also get some road noise. The lots up top are covered with spruce trees and most of these lots would have views of the Cliffs as well. We are definitely in snow country here and you positively would need four-wheel drive vehicles in the winter. The roads are gravel and are in modest condition and are maintained by the homeowners Association. You would need to drill your own well for domestic water and install your own septic system. Gas service would be propane tank. This project not only offers nice proximity to Durango Mountain Resort, but the main road into Lakewood Meadows is also the entrance road to Electra Lake which can be accessed by the public for a fee. You can put your speedboat in the Lake and fish at Electra Lake. Very cold for water skiing, you would definitely want a wetsuit. My family has caught many a trout in that lake!
