Description

Subdivided in the early 1970s, some of the early homes were A-frame type cabins. There is a small lake in the subdivision that is nice for kayaking and for fishing. It is not a public lake but would be available to everybody who owned property in Lake of the Pines. Some of the lots border right on the highway and others are back in around behind a ridge that offers some seclusion and buffer from highway noise. Vegetation would be Aspen trees and spruce trees and the ground is quite rocky making for higher building costs due to the necessity to blast for foundations. For domestic water you would need to drill your own well and for sewer service you’d need to install your own septic system. There is no natural gas so you would need to obtain that service through individual propane tanks. The roads are gravel and reasonably maintained in the winter understanding that this subdivision would get more than 300 inches of snow per year. Four-wheel drive would certainly be a necessity. Some of the lots would have pretty views of the Hermosa Cliffs to the west and others would have a view of the Western Needles Mountains or Spud Mountain.
