Description

This is a long Valley running from the southwest to the northeast on the east side of Durango. There are homes located on both sides of the valley and as you go up the Valley wall on the East side, views of the La Plata Mountains and of the Animas Valley come into play. This project is still under development and was started in the late 1990s. There are numerous townhomes on the main street called Jenkins Ranch Road and since they are lower down do not offer views of the snowcapped mountains. This property is excellently located for people working at Fort Lewis college or who may want to walk or bicycle to town for work or recreation. There is a developed trail on the East boundary of the property that connects into the rather famous Horse Gulch mountain bike trails. There is a city Park within the subdivision that includes a tennis court. The Jenkins family ranched this property for years and the main road is named after them. Durango’s first roundabouts were installed in that road. The further northeast you go in the project, the larger the lots and the pricier the homes become. Skyridge is serviced with city water and sewer and all streets have curb and gutter. There is natural gas service as well.
