Description

Developed in the early 1980’s this is principally single-family homes on lots. There is one condominium complex of about 20 to 30 units and there is a small development of about eight properties with shared driveways and some common walls. All the streets are paved and have curb, gutter and sidewalks. The streets are lined with trees that are now close to 30 years old. Many of the lots have a real pretty view of the La Plata mountains to the west and views up the Animas Valley to the north. The lots along the West side of the subdivision overlook the Hillcrest Golf Course and of course the snowcapped mountains. This is not a subdivision of 200 homes of which there are four or five floorplans. Instead there were numerous builders and very few homes look like the home next door. Most of them have a mountain-home feel, but there are a few that are a little bit on the contemporary looking side. It would be easy to walk or bike to the college from this project. Homes are well maintained as are the yards. The project is serviced with city water, city sewer and natural gas.
